Valentino to show at the State University of Milan
The show is titled "The Narratives" and will be held at the opening of Milan Fashion Week
May 15th, 2023
After its shows in Rome and Paris, Valentino will return to show in Milan after three years. The brand's last show that took place during Milan Fashion Week had been held in September 2020, marking the Italian brand's big return to Italy, then followed by the monumental Couture show at Trinità de' Monti in Rome. The show of the new men's collection will be held next June 16 at 2 p.m. at the Università degli Studi di Milano Statale, signaling the support the brand wants to show to local communities and new generations. The brand's press release also talks about «an invitation for students to experience the show live» suggesting that some of the students might be invited to attend the show.
The show, dedicated to menswear, will underscore the importance of the fast-growing category for the brand, and it wants to do so by setting the show in the very city where Valentino Garavani presented his first men's collection in 1985. The importance of this category is also linked to the recent launch of Maison Valentino Essentials, a new line that intends to propose an essential and continuously expandable wardrobe offering timeless wardrobe classics reinterpreted, of course, according to Valentino and Pierpaolo Piccioli's own aesthetic.
