Under the leadership of Vittoria Matarrese, the foundation aims to promote creativity and young artists
April 26th, 2023
Last April 20, Bally officially opened the doors of the Bally Foundation's new headquarters at Villa Heleneum in Lugano. This opening marks the beginning of a new phase for the Foundation, which after 17 years will finally be able to count on a permanent home in such a unique location on the shores of Lake Lugano. Founded in 2006, the Foundation has always been committed to the promotion of art and culture, highlighting issues important to Bally, such as innovation, support for creativity, and attention to ecological issues.
A set of principles that have always been part of the brand's history and that today continue to live on through a diversified artistic and cultural offering that aims to support creativity in all its forms with a special emphasis on supporting young artists. In addition, since November 2022, Vittoria Matarrese has taken over as director of the Foundation, bringing with her the experience gained at Palais de Tokyo in Paris and Villa Medici in Rome.
The beginning of a path that aims to tighten ties with the territory even more, as in the case of the collaboration with MASI (Museo d'Arte della Svizzera Italiana), inside which the work that won the Bally Artist Award will be displayed in an exhibition opening next June 3. The work will then be purchased by MASI, thus becoming part of the museum's permanent collection. On the occasion of the opening, the Foundation is offering Un Lac Inconnu, an exhibition that brings together more than twenty international artists in a poetic and philosophical walk among submerged and emerged landscapes on display until next September 24.
