Are you ready to get creative with Wool4school?
Contest prompting students to rethink wool
November 10th, 2022
There are few fashion competitions dedicated to students. An exception where Wool4school Italy, an annual fashion and design competition for emerging young designers, falls. First launched in Australia in 2012, it involves more than 100,000 students worldwide. Starting with the idea of promoting the use of wool, the Woll4school encourages students to think innovatively and responsibly. As a magazine involved in talent scouting and interested in creativity in general, we will follow the entire selection process for this upcoming edition. Following the sustainability trend, students are asked to design a garment or outfit with a composition of at least 70 percent Merino wool that facilitates movement.
In this edition, the partner of the contest is Slam Jam - Do you know what a JAM session is? is the theme closely related to improvisation, inviting you to step out of your comfort zone to use wool in new ways, always sustainable - offering a mentoring session (a 2-week internship) to the winner. The winner will be announced on May 2023 and we will have the opportunity to interview them exclusively to talk about creativity and sustainability. The competition is open to all students who are 16 years of age or older and attending the last three years of art high school, technical and vocational institutes with a fashion orientation. It is a competition, completely free of charge, which aims to bring young designers closer to the world of wool, trying to enhance its unique characteristics. Applications will close on March 31, 2023.
