Riccardo Tisci may be about to leave Burberry
When his contract expires in 2023, a successor could be appointed
August 31st, 2022
The designer change comes a year after the appointment of new CEO Jonathan Akeroyd, former CEO of Versace, but especially after the company reported last May an operating profit of 543 million pounds in the financial year ended April 2, up 4.2 percent from 521 million pounds in the previous year, which exceeded analysts' expectations. Prolonged lockdowns in China, as well as reduced tourist flows, prevented the expected boom in sales, which, however, remained strong thanks in part to success in the U.S. market. It should be pointed out, however, that the brand has not confirmed these rumors and that in July, during the presentation of financial results, the brand's management had said it was happy with the designer's performance.
