A new Fashion Museum will open soon in Milan
Its new home will be Palazzo Dugnani at the Indro Montanelli Gardens

Porta Venezia will be the new home of Milan's Fashion Museum, a new institution whose imminent opening was announced recently and which has seen an allocation of 4 million euros from the Ministry of Culture. Lucia Borgonzoni, undersecretary of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, said: «The museum should be thought of as a living space. Palazzo Dugnani has large spaces and that is why it must also be a place for experimentation, where young people can go, where Made in Italy is told. Milan needs a museum that tells us, but in a projection of the future. Not only what fashion has been and is but also the projects for tomorrow».
The Camera della Moda is also expected to be involved in the project, although its president Carlo Capasa admitted that discussion on the matter has not gone beyond preliminary talks without touching on topics such as costs and management. Restoration of the palace, whose ceilings are decorated with frescoes by Tiepolo, may also require more money than has been allocated, which is why private involvement is not ruled out.
