Valentino has announced, together with the City of Rome, that the brand's next Haute Couture show will be held in Rome, in Piazza Mignanelli, home of the founder's famous Roman residence, and in nearby Trinità de' Monti. The presentation will be aimed at a «global parterre» and will be «a memorable event for the city of Rome», suggesting that in addition to the actual show there will be a larger event that will take place in the center of Rome. In the past, the brand has organized "open" shows such as the one for the SS22 collection seen in Paris last October with great success.
«We belong to this place as much as it belongs to the world and to Valentino», said Pierpaolo Piccioli, referring to Valentino's Roman heritage that had its very first location in Rome in 1960, in Via Condotti to be exact, and that in the historic Palazzo Mignanelli still houses the brand's atelier. Pierpaolo Piccioli had already set some collections against the backdrop of Rome: nominally the Spring 2021 Couture, a digital show shot at Palazzo Colonna, but also the lookbook of the Resort 2019 collection.
