Prada Linea Rossa's new FW21 campaign
“Beyond the Line”
October 8th, 2021
Since its inception in 1997, Prada Linea Rossa has aimed to overcome the limits: the limits of the speed of a boat, the limits of resistance of its crew, but also the limits of fashion and sportswear in the most conceptual sense of the term. The line created by Miuccia Prada for the crew of the Luna Rossa, in fact, was not only the protagonist of one of the great Italian media epics of the late 90s, the famous nights of Auckland, but also reinvented the idea of fashion for an entire generation, giving Millennials around the world the first luxury sneaker in history, the America's Cup, but also bringing sportswear on the catwalk anticipating the streetwear phenomenon by years. Today, Beyond the Line is the claim of the new FW21 campaign of Prada Linea Rossa taken by Hugo Comte: an invitation to overcome every literal or symbolic limit.
The overcoming of the limit, of the imaginary line that separates us from our ambitions, also becomes an overcoming of the distinction between nationality and disciplines, with the talents of the campaign coming from all over the world but also from all the different dimensions of the athletic world: skateboarding, ballet, basketball and parkour. Overcoming the limit also means innovating, and technical progress is one of the values that Linea Rossa carries on season after season: for this collection, for example, the America's Cup sneaker has been reinterpreted with the iconic design of the original sole, silhouette and double construction in fabric and leather. Among the other highlights of the new range, then, there are the technical suits, especially the Techno Knit sweater and pants set in polyester decorated with geometric patterns, but also the combos of jacket and ski/ snowboard pants in triple-layer technical fabric and ski accessories such as wrapping glasses, helmets and technical mittens.
