The new footwear capsules by BAPE x Timberland
An ode to the aesthetics of the early 90s
August 24th, 2021
Timberland is a brand of immense popularity, so much so that its 3-Eye Shoe and its Chukka Boot have become over the years more than a classic, but an essential piece of footwear culture all over the world. Today, the brand announced that these two iconic items will be re-interpreted by Nigo and the BAPE team, who have signed a collaborative capsule with the brand that has the two shoes at its center. The result is a playful capsule, which recalls the atmosphere of the early 90s, and has been immortalized in a campaign that evokes the atmosphere of the arcade game rooms of those years.
On the silhouette of the 3-Eye Classic shoe, splashes of color and the classic BAPE® CAMO print have been added. Chukka waterproof boots, on the other hand, feature in addition to the BAPE® CAMO print, also the BAPE STATM logo on the sides, with the iconic colors of Timberland. Both models are made using Better Leather by Timberland. The leather comes from tanneries that are subjected to independent controls and evaluated by the Leather Working Group for the practices of responsible management of water, energy and waste. Other sustainable materials in the capsule include ReBOTL fabric™ made from at least 50% recycled plastic and Primaloft insulation® made from 55% recycled materials.
