The anime aesthetics of Dr. Martens x Atmos' second collabo
A drop that has as its protagonist the Tarik Boot
August 17th, 2021
Founded by Hommyo Hidefumi in 2000, Atmos is a streetwear brand that has been able over the years to interpret and reinterpret, always updating the unique style of the Ura-Harajuku district. Among the numerous collaborations this year, which have involved brands such as Nike, adidas, Puma and New Balance, one of the best is the one with Dr. Martens, who produced together with Hidefumi the Dr. Martens 1461 and the Combs Tech boot seen last April and which has been renewed today with the reinterpretation of one of the most iconic silhouettes of the English brand: the Tarik Boot. The inspiration behind the collabo is the world of anime, which has always been appreciated for the immense inspirations provided to the world of fashion – and the lookbook presentation of the boot is precisely designed inspired by the art of anime.
The leather boot is covered with velvet and ends with a pu padded collar, creating an eclectic union between classic Japanese streetwear and Dr. Martens' utilitarian design. On the tongue stands a dual-branded logo covered by a hook for the laces that bears the Atmos branding. The brushed silver eyelets and ski hooks are intertwined with a red and white lace, to complete the shoe the double-branded footbed in black and red hooth and the iconic yellow seam on a smoky Tarian sole.
