Copenhagen Fashion Week will be broadcast on YouTube
With the aim of a zero-impact fashion week
August 6th, 2021
In the continuous process of digitizing fashion, Copenhagen Fashion Week has decided to join forces with Youtube. From 10 to 13 August the video platform owned by Google will make the entire CPHFW program available to the public by broadcasting the shows on its Fashion and Beauty channels, as well as that of the Danish Fashion Week.
Even before the pandemic, the CPHFW had embarked on a path towards digital accessibility with the aim of reducing carbon emissions due to excessive travel during the fashion week. In 2020 Copenhagen Fashion Week had published a three-year plan to make the event more sustainable through digital integration with the aim, in 2022, of making CPHFW totally zero impact. From the following year, all the brands that want to take part in the event will have to respect the standards established by the organizers of the Fashion Week.
For Youtube, on the other hand, the partnership is part of a path towards fashion-oriented content that incorporates what was previously done by other platforms, from Instagram to Snapchat. Furthermore, being able to count on a reality like that of Youtube guarantees many emerging brands a showcase that, in traditional circumstances, they would hardly be able to have.
