Converse's new Pride Collection
The brand continues to support the LGBTQIA+ community
May 19th, 2021
On the occasion of the sixth collection dedicated to Pride Month, this year Converse has decided to celebrate the path towards self-acceptance and joy, through a highly graphic and colourful footwear and apparel capsule collection, which explores the dichotomy between the struggle and the joy of coming to self-love.
The collection, which plays on graphics that turn the summit of a mountain into floating and colourful peaks, includes the Chuck 70, the Chuck Taylor All Star, in high, low and platform versions, a new slide and for the first time also the Run Star Hike. On the Converse By You platform, it will also be possible to customize sneakers with patches, plates, laces, and flags, to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.
Since releasing its first Pride collection in 2015, Converse has donated more than $1.3 million in support of local and global LGBTQIA+ organizations, with contributions supporting safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth, education on issues directly impacting the community, and essential resources needed during the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, a portion of LGBTQIA+ community funding from Converse’s ongoing partnership with the It Gets Better Project [IGBP] to support IGBP’s efforts to allow all individuals to find joy and freedom in being themselves on TikTok and Twitch during Pride month and beyond.
