April 23rd, 2021
Postcards from Florence is the new digital exhibition conceived by Polimoda Firenze that involves 30 young creatives from all over the world, associated with as many iconic places in the city of Florence. Over 150 black and white shots, taken in 2020, accompanied by words, slogans, poems and sensations of the students who tell the city as well as, without filters, young people see it and live it today. Starting from the city map, visitors can virtually move through different locations and learn about students through their portraits and stories. The online platform includes the students' self-discovery stories, which reveal their personal experiences of living abroad in the Renaissance city.
The absolute protagonists of the project are the students of Polimoda, immortalized together with the history of the city, to those places that saw the Florentine Renaissance and that are ready today to become its new cradle. The mix of digital photography and storytelling of polimoda's new project invites us to reflect on a new intellectual and aesthetic Renaissance guided by the uniqueness of the creative talent of the young students of the Florentine institute.
