Forty selected works of art will appear during tomorrow afternoon's digital vernissage on the occasion of the ARTivism exhibition, a new project that sees the light within Fashion Revolution Week 2021 and that aims to tell the sustainability in fashion through the lens of art. The selection was made starting from the works of over 90 artists who had responded to the call launched by Fashion Revolution Italia and Fondazione Pistoletto last December and the 10 finalists who will be announced via Zoom during the inaugural presentation will be able to win a Unidee residence, dedicated to deepening the themes covered by the selected works and their possible developments together with the Think Tank of Cittadellarte Fashion B.E.S.T. Biella Ethical Sustainable Think Tank and Fashion Revolution. The residence will last five days, will take place in the second half of 2021 in Cittadellarte
While the exhibition was curated by Stella Stone, the works were evaluated by a technical commission composed of the CEO, the project manager and the director of the Art Office of fondazione Pistoletto, respectively Paolo Naldini, Olga Pirazzi and Juan Estefan Sandoval together with Marina Spadafora, designer, author and country coordinator of Fashion Revolution Italia. The curator, Stella Stone, explained:
«For the first edition of ARTivism we have selected heterogeneous works that, with different cultural approaches, moral and ethical messages, digital expressions and artisans, call us to action. We wanted to give priority to quality and the representation of diversity. We believe that every single artist selected is manifest of a truth capable of triggering curiosity and dialogue, the first step for a collective change».
