Pitti presents sustainable designers with artificial intelligence
The result is an immersive mini-movie called "Wonderwall"
April 2nd, 2021
Wonderwall is the new project born as part of the second edition of Sustainable Style, Pitti Uomo's project dedicated to modern pioneers of sustainable fashion. The second stage of the project will be curated by journalist Giorgia Cantarini and will tell the works of the selected designers through a mini-film directed by Alberto Maria Colombo. The title is a tribute to Joe Massot's psychedelic film of the same name and takes advantage of the innovative GAN algorithm (Generative Adversarial Networks), an artificial intelligence that can mix and compare different images to create unique visual scenarios.
The 15 sustainable brands will be NI, Luca Kemkes, Flavia La Rocca, Ksenia Schnaider, KidsofBrokenFuture, Nous Etudions, Myar, Philip Huang, Raeburn, Reamerei, S.S. Daley, Uniforme Paris, Vitelli, Yatay and Young N Sang (about the latter, together with Ksneiaschaider we had talked about a few days ago). All of them have been chosen for their ability to combine aesthetics and research. The director of Pitti Immagine, Agostino Poletto, commented:
«We inaugurate this second chapter of Sustainable Style with the desire and the idea of stimulating a strong reflection on the contemporary, and on the near future of the. Sustainability and style are concepts that today more than ever must go hand in hand».
