The new Stüssy x Nike capsule collection
A sustainable thermal apparel range and five hand-to-hand-toed Air Force 1
January 25th, 2021
Nike and Stüssy are back to collaborate for the 2021 winter season with a new capsule that has tye-dye as the main theme. The new capsule, coming on January 29th, includes thermal apparel set consisting of hoodies, trousers and skirt all in ripstop nylon made from 75% recycled materials including carpets and fishing nets, padded with a recycled polyester called Thermore EcoDown which, compared to traditional duvets, is both insulating and water-repellent and windproof. The double branding that decorates the garments is also combined with a green gradient dye while a series of details such as clip buttons and adjustable hemlines accentuate its utility appearance.
The second part of the collaboration, and coming on the same day, are five new Stüssy x Nike Air Force 1 limited edition, with uppers composed of hemp and hand colourway colours representing as many cities of the Stüssy World Tour. All sneakers were hand-dyed in California by Lookout & Wonderland, a company that used plant-based dyes obtained through ethical crops and were also chosen based on the phytotherapy properties of the selected plants. The final result gave each model its own unique finishing.
