The new Rick Owens x Converse TurboDrk Chuck 70s
Revealed today during the FW21 collection show
January 21st, 2021
Rick Owens has signed a collaboration with Converse, which was unveiled today during the fashion show for the designer's FW21 collection. An important collaboration, whose official name is TurboDrk Chuck 70s, and which, as the designer himself said: «kind of closed this poetic circle since I’ve been referencing them for so long and they were cool with it».
The TurboDrk Chuck 70s will be unisex and will initially arrive in a black colourway, which will be followed later by a white version and a lilac. Owens reworked the classic Converse silhouette by adding a platform, a square toe and stretching the tongue that bears the double branding. The collaboration between Converse and Rick Owens' DRKSHDW line will not stop there but will have its own continuity. As Converse's vice president of footwear, Brandis Russell, explained:
Rick Owens will continue to reimagine and re-articulate classic Converse sneakers in 2021 through his Drkshdw line. We’ll continue to work together, and to push the boundaries of our footwear together.
