The new digitale edition of the Milan Fashion Film Festival
From January 13 to 18 exclusively online
January 8th, 2021
The seventh edition of the Milan Fashion Film Festival was supposed to take place as usual in November, but due to the health emergency, the appointment was predictably postponed. The festival that has always reflected the marriage between cinema and fashion returns now in a completely new version from January 13 to 18 2021, in conjunction with the Milan Fashion Week dedicated to men's collections, and in partnership with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana.
The event, directed and founded by Costanza Cavalli Etro, will take place on three different platforms: the digital platform of CNMI fashionfilmfestivalmilano.cameramoda.it, the official website of the festival fffmilano.com and the film streaming platform MYmovies.it. The official selection of the festival includes more than 200 films, from over 60 countries, despite the over a thousand projects received. Among the premieres hosted by the festival, Halston stands out, the feature film dedicated to the work of the legendary American designer, directed by Frederic Tcheng, the award-winning director of masterpieces such as Valentino: The Last Emperor and Dior & l, who will recount his latest project in an exclusive interview. The screening of Martin Margiela in His Own Words, the documentary on the legendary and mysterious Belgian designer, is also highly anticipated, followed by a Q&A with the director of the film, Reiner Holzemer. It will also be possible to admire the works of the great names in fashion and cinema such as Matteo Garrone, Dior, Gucci, Hermès, Fendi, Trussardi, and Burberry, just to name a few.
From January 13 to 18 on the Fashion Film Festival Milano platform, there will also be a special section dedicated to Made in Italy and Italian creativity, The World of Italian Fashion Films, 6 conversations with prominent personalities, 5 premieres of feature films and the two special projects of the Out of Competition section: #FFFMilanoForGreen, dedicated to brands, stories and projects that are an immeasurable example of sustainability, and #FFFMilanoForWomen, the section that has been promoting and supporting female talent for years, giving space and voice to social initiatives, directors, designers, entrepreneurs and activists. Among the conversations, do not miss The Future of Fashion which thanks to the meeting between the influencer journalist Anna Dello Russo and Costanza Etro Cavalli will deepen the importance of digital during the pandemic.
