The Refresh Sessions: Tommy Jeans' new hub to celebrate upcycling
Four masterclasses, two workshops and a social media battle
November 25th, 2020
Tommy Jeans recently presented its 100% Recycled Denim collection, entirely created from recycled materials processed with low environmental impact techniques. To further the upcycling culture and celebrate the new creative generations, Tommy Jeans and nss magazine launched the creative hub The Refresh Sessions in collaboration with IED Milano, IED Torino, Polimoda Firenze and IUAD Napoli that will be open to all young creatives on an ad hoc digital hub. The design students involved will have the right to put into practice the principles of sustainable fashion represented by the new Collection of Tommy Jeans and their creations will compete on the Instagram page of nss magazine in a social media battle.
Central part of the project are the four masterclasses, conducted by two pairs of creators. The first sees the APJP duo (acronym of Alberto Panocchi and Joelle Pomioli), specialized in customization through the reuse of recovery materials, will dedicate themselves to a workshop focused on the creation of a customized cellular holder with their painting technique. In the second masterclass, Domenico Formichetti of Formy Studio will work side by side with Greg, a young designer specialized in manipulation and distressing of denim. Their workshop will be dedicated to the creation of a custom denim bucket hat with the Japanese sashiko technique.
All the creations of the masterclass students will appear in the hub, which will then be selected by the creators to compete in a social media battle on the Instagram page of nss magazine where the public will elect the best creation.
