The second chapter of Converse x MQBMBQ's digital project
The new stories and faces of the Italian Black Queer community
November 10th, 2020
Born from the joint efforts of Converse, with its All Stars Program, and MQBMBQ, the digital project founded and directed by the editor-at-large of nss magazine and creative director Jordan Anderson, the digital platform The Queer Black Italian Experience returns with a second chapter of stories and faces that tell life in Italy with the eyes of black queerness – experiences often neglected and suffered , but also full of wisdom, growth and happiness.
The second chapter, entirely produced by nss factory under Anderson's creative direction, returns with the same creative team behind it: the shots are signed by Silvia Rossi, italo-togolese photographer who has always been involved in the investigation of migration and diaspora, and styling from Thais Montessori Brandao. Once again, we will return to talk through a series of autobiographical narratives about the beauty of black queerhood but also about the racism, queerfobia and homophobia that members of this community suffer.
The second part of the project will be followed in the coming weeks by new initiatives, including a zine in the process. For complete stories and to keep up with the project, visit My Queer Blackness, My Black Queerness' official website.
