The new Off-White™ DIY hoodie dedicated to Enzo Mari
On the occasion of the exhibition dedicated to the designer at the Triennale di Milano
October 26th, 2020
Off-White™ has just announced its participation in the exhibition dedicated to the career of the late Enzo Mari, the legendary modernist designer who died last October 19th, co-curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Francesca Giacomelli and inaugurated on October 17th at the Triennale di Milano.
The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore Mari's creative work, bringing new interpretations from the artists and designers involved. Virgil Abloh, alongside international artists and designers such as Adelita Husni-Bey, Tacita Dean, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Mimmo Jodice, Dozie Kanu, Adrian Paci, Barbara Stauffacher Solomon, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Danh Vò and Nanda Vigo, was invited to design objects inspired by the work of the famous artist.
The hoodie created by Off-White™ for the occasion is inspired by the concept of Self-design introduced by Enzo Mari: equipped with a kit of threads, needles, brooches and fabric components, it will offer its owner the opportunity to self-design their own hoodie. Off-White™ Modular Hooded Sweatshirt, therefore, invites the consumers to become designers, creating their own personal project on their own garment and using their own hands to assemble the different elements.
