Sunnei's new rubber-dotted boot

Sunnei's SS21 show held during last Milan Fashion Week brought a breath of fresh air for the brand, which, after growing up in its early years, is now heading into a more mature phase. Among the items that have caught the attention of buyers and press, there is a spiked boot that, with the typical irony of the brand, has been called 1000CHIODI – an inside joke that refers to the name of a professional glue for repairs very popular in Italy. 

The aesthetic of the 1000CHIODI seen at the show in boot version but also available with a low-cut silhouette is halfway between the slipper, the technical sneaker and the avant-garde boot. The shoe is built from a technical fabric with zigzag stitching and leather overlays that go all the way from the toe to the heels. A series of rubber dots cover the entire underside of the shoe replacing the outsole and ensuring grip on the ground. The most sought-after version, now, is that of the boot with tie-dye colouring but there will be a low-cut version that is also the main protagonist of the lookbook made for the SS21 collection.  

The release date of Sunnei's 1000CHIODI has not yet been revealed but is expected to be set in a few months next spring.
