The new Our Legacy x Stüssy capsule collection
From Stockholm to California
August 19th, 2020
Our Legacy, the Swedish streetwear brand founded by Jockum Hallin and Cristopher Nying, has just unveiled the campaign for its new collaborative capsule with Stüssy: a series of collages that evoke the summer atmosphere of California, in which the photos of the models blend with those of shells and sea waves, with a collage style that also expresses the concept behind the collection. The garments of the capsule will be recovered from the archives of unused materials of the two brands. As Fraser Avey, the brand director of Stüssy, explained to Vogue:
It’s kind of a mixture of Stüssy going into its archive and sharing fabric that was deadstock to reimagine some OL silhouettes, and then vice versa: OL going into its fabric archive and using those to reimagine some Stüssy silhouettes.
In addition to aiming at reusing the deadstock fabrics accumulated over a decade of activity, the collaboration has emotional resonances for one of Our Legacy's founders, Jockum Hallin, who as a teenager, first as a skater and then as a singer, has always been a loyal fan of the Californian brand. The spirit of the project is that of a hand-to-hand work, which blends the light-hearted spirits of the two brands to create a series of striped shirts, long-sleeved T-shirts, trousers, tote bags and accessories that, as their label says, «are carefully designed to be worn big and have large amounts of fun in».
The first official drop of the collection is set in the Our Legacy store in Stockholm for the next 21 August, while the global online drop will take place a week later, on 28 August, on the websites of Our Legacy and Stüssy.
