The return of the Jordan Air Ship Pro
Back Door Bottega launches the raffle for Michael Jordan's "banned" sneakers
July 31st, 2020
Legend has it that the first sneaker worn by Micheal Jordan in the NBA was a pair of Air Jordan 1, later banned by the league for not conforming to the uniform's code. In reality though, as told in the cult documentary The Last Dance, the sneaker that MJ sported during his rookie season was a black and red Nike Air Ship. After 36 years the Air Ship Pro is ready to make its comeback.
The silhouette born from the blending of the Air Ship and the Nike Pro Circuit was sported by Michael Jordan for only three games during the pre-season of 1984 before the NBA banned them.
Back Door Bottega will be the first retailer to make them available through two raffles: one in-store from August 1st and a European one from August 3rd. Friday 7 August there will be an exclusive in-store event completely dedicated to the launch of the Jordan Air Ship Pro.
