The first RETROSUPERFUTURE x Woolrich collection
Three sunglasses and an overshirt dropping in September
July 31st, 2020
Following the collaborations with some of the most interesting talents in the fashion world, from Sunnei to Gosha Rubchinskiy, up to the capsule collection in partnership with Daniëlle Cathari, RETROSUPERFUTURE has unveiled its latest collaboration with Woolrich.
The result is a dynamic capsule collection where the tradition of Woolrich is combined with RSF's contemporary design, celebrating the artisanal excellence and the icons of both brands. For the occasion, in fact, RETROSUPERFUTURE has put on the table three of its most famous models: Flat Top, Ciccio and America, revisited with the classic Buffalo Check motif by Woolrich. Each silhouette is thus characterized by the check inside the frame and is accompanied by matching details that also appear on the packaging. In addition to the sunglasses, Woolrich and RSF have also collaborated in the creation of an original Buffalo Check overshirt in shades of purple, a symbolic colour for the RSF brand, which will be launched in September.
Woolrich is the first outdoor clothing brand born in the United States. Its iconic check is inspired by a herd of buffalos owned by the original designers and consists of a red and black motif that, since its creation in 1850, has become a symbol of American workwear and folklore and is still today the most impactful visual elements of the brand.
As for the sunglasses, the Flat Top model features the check pattern on the red version; the curved and bold lines of the Ciccio model are available with the check the blue version, while the minimal silhouette of America, made of rectangular lenses and thick temples, is characterized by the black motif. The overshirt, on the other hand, is made with the special Woolrich ramar fabric 60% cotton and 40% nylon, also used for the brand's iconic parkas. On the back, the RSF and Woolrich writings stand out in yellow with a relief print.
