Levi's presents its most sustainable collection ever
Jeans and denim jackets made of completely natural fibers

Wellthread is the most sustainable collection ever introduced by Levi's. All items of the FW20 collection, from the trucker jacket to the 502 jeans, are made from 20% recycled denim, 20% sustainable viscose and 60% organic cotton. Every detail has been designed to satisfy the circularity standards. Even decorative elements, such as the back patch, red tongue and pockets, are made from natural fibres so they can be easier to recycle when jeans and other garments can no longer be worn.
More and more companies are supporting the development of innovative technologies that make possible the transformation of garments and second-hand fabrics into raw materials to be used for new products, but few of them achieved successful results like Re:newcell with its Circulose, the fabric chosen by Levi's, together with waste cotton from worn-out denim jeans, for its new collection. The Swedish start-up collects used clothes with high cellulosic content, crumbles them, bleaches them and, through a recycling process of cotton and viscose fibres that involves minimum use of water and chemicals, obtains a liquid mixture. Once dried, this natural, biodegradable pulp is combined with cotton and becomes a new fabric.
Wellthread is the perfect example of how sustainability, ethics and coolness can be combined. In fact, the entire collection is not just eco-conscious or developed in factories that follow the initiatives of Worker Well-being, an association dedicated to improving the lives of the people who manufacture Levi's products, but has an artistic touch. Denim jackets, sweatshirts and t-shirts are embellished by nature-themed illustrations by Nathaniel Russel.
