The FW20 collection by Salomon
New silhouettes embracing the hiking aesthetic in a urban landscape
July 21st, 2020
Over the last few years, the fashion world has taken over a trend that has grown significantly in a very short time: the climbing and hiking aesthetics, which has always been ignored by big brands, has made its way among fashion-addicts to even conquer the Fashion Week. The trend of wearing and reinterpreting items belonging to the mountain clothing gear, also known as Gorpcore, has brought brands such as The North Face, Canada Goose and Patagonia to the fore. Among these brands, there is also Salomon.
A few weeks after the debut of the sneaker made in collaboration with AVNIER, Salomon, founded in 1947 and always a leader in the production of sports and outdoor clothing, has announced the drop of the FW20 collection: a range of footwear with a technical design but inspired by an urban style, suitable for both sneakerheads and hiking enthusiasts.
The FW20 collection includes a mix of classic hiking models such as XT-Quest and XA-Comp, but also some more style-conscious models (without sacrificing the quality of the materials) including the RX Snow Moc, the Alpine Mid, the XA Pro Fusion and the well-known XT-6. But the highlight of the collection is the return of the great classic XT-4 ADVANCED, reworked in two new colours while maintaining its functionality thanks to the ACS (Agile Chassis System) and Contagrip sole.
The collection will be available online and at official Salomon retailers and stores. The first drop will be available online, at selected retail partners and in selected stores from July, with a second installation later this year.
