The new Smiley x Pull&Bear collection
A streetwear capsule that rereads the history of art with the eyes of optimism
June 11th, 2020
Smiley, the iconic brand born in 1971 at the hands of French journalist Franklin Loufrani, has announced its next collaboration with Pull&Bear for a new limited edition capsule collection that mixes the positive philosophy and pop aesthetics that have made it famous all over the world and the Spanish brand's urban spirit. The result is a streetwear reinterpretation of some of the world's most famous works of art. To celebrate its release, Australian designer and artist Kris Andrew Small has created a campaign in the style of his dynamic and colorful collages that you can see in the gallery below.
The men's line of the capsule consists of a series of black and white T-shirts and sweatshirts, in which the pop imagery of The Smiley meets the expressionist art of Van Gogh, the Impressionist paintings of Monet and Vermeer's Girl with the pearl earring.
Classical art is at the center of the women's line which, in addition to sweatshirts and t-shirts, also includes all-over printed denim twinset with Smiley iconography and viscous shirts. The women's collection is then complemented by accessories such as bucket hats and a selection of accessories.
To complete the range of the collection, there are also four accessories: a necklace, a pair of earrings and a gold-plated ring bearing Smiley's branding and a pair of socks.
The Smiley x Pull&Bear collection is available from today on the brand's official e-shop and at all Pull&Bear stores.
