UPDATE 19/05/20: Uniqlo announced today that Billie Eilish x Takashi Murakami's capsule will consist of a series of graphic t-shirts and hats, featuring graphics that mix Billie Eilish's Blohsh with the iconic Murakami flowers. The designs also include a collage of Eilish's photos, a sketch taken from her music video, and a UT logo of the singer.
After directing the anime video you should see me in a crown by Billie Eilish, Takashi Murakami returns to collaborate with the American singer with a capsule collection produced by UNIQLO UT.
The collaboration between the two creators was announced today on Instagram via the publication of a teaser video that sees a sculpture of Billie Eilish in the anime-inspired style Murakami wearing a T-shirt in which her name is written with the classic floral pattern Kaikai Kiki invented by the Japanese artist.
The collaboration will see Eilish and Murakami's artistic views come together through a combination of graphics created exclusively for Uniqlo. In addition to the T-shirt, the capsule will include a whole range of limited edition products that have yet to be announced.
The drop date also remains unknown - with the teaser only talking about a vague "Coming Soon" - but the release date is expected to be set by the end of May.
