The new Supreme x My Bloody Valentine capsule
James Jebbia's brand returns to London's underground world
April 20th, 2020
The next drop of Supreme, which will take place on Thursday 23 April, in collaboration with the iconic British band My Bloody Valentine is a special one, because it sees the brand founded by James Jebbia revisit the world of London's underground music scene – a world that, with its aesthetic, had been one of the main inspirations followed by the founder of the brand at the beginning of his career. My Bloody Valentine were in fact some of the main characters of the London underground scene of the mid-80s that formed James Jebbia, who went back and forth between London and New York, taking with him the clothes found in the UK and selling them in that thrift shop that became Union, the store that laid the foundations of Supreme.
The collection uses graphics from the albums of the band that launched the shoegaze in England: the cover of Feed Me With Your Kiss is used for Trucker Jacket, rayon shirts and a t-shirt; Loveless decorates the hoodies and one of the shirts; the eponymous My Bloody Valentine album is used in the last of the shirts while a t-shirt uses Glider's cover.
The drop of the Supreme x My Bloody Valentine capsule will take place exclusively online on the brand's official shop on Thursday, April 23, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the brand's physical stores will remain closed.
