A few months following a collaboration with PUMA, six of the One Piece rising stars are the protagonists of a new fashion collabo: Luffy, Zoro, Nami and three others characters from the anime reinterpretate the classic Omini logo byItalian sportswear brand Kappa for a capsule collection that is already a hit.
The main star of this collection is the one who'll become the King of the Pirates: Luffy (Monkey D. Luffy AKA "Rufy" in the Italian version of the manga AKA "Rubber" in the Italian version of the anime, argh!). Next to him there are some of the most famous faces from the saga, Mugiwara Pirates as well as other pirates from One Piece's fictional universe: Shanks, Ace, Zoro, Sanji e Nami. The characters are presented sitting back to back, leaning against each other re-interpreting the iconic Omini logo of the brand. The tees and hoodies come in different color-ways specifically declined for every character. To complete the collection, there comes a hoodie with the iconic 'TO BE CONTINUED' in the end of every episode of the anime. All the items from the collection will be sold with a tag/bookmark in which there's Luffy wearing a signature tracksuit from Kappa.
Written and illustrated by Master Eiichirō Oda, it's been more than 20 years after the publishing of its first volume (in 1997), but Luffy & Co.'s saga is still running wild. Meanwhile, it broke many worldwide records: it's the best seller manga all over the World (more than 450 millions of copies), while in 2015 has reached the Guinness World Records as "The most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author". Furthermore, Netflix has recently announced that it's working on a 10 episodes live-action series of the manga: it will be the first live action product ever realized on the franchise. Can't wait.
The collection is already a cult and it will be available only in Japan at Kappa Japan Stores, at the PHENIX CREATIVE SELECT STORE (Tokyo) and in the official One Piece Mugiwara Stores. Follow nss magazine for any updates.
