The gothic-tinged Nordic minimalism of Acne Studios' new capsule

For its SS20 collection, Acne Studios has created a capsule collection for women inspired by the graphics and photographs of Fred Berger, founder and main creative mind behind the magazine "Propaganda", from which the collection takes its name. "Propaganda" was an American fashion magazine that remained active for twenty years, from 1982 until 2002, and which played a key role in creating and exploring the world and goth aesthetics, using androgynous models for their photoshoots and touching themes that ranged from sexuality to music and art. Acne Studios' "Propaganda" capsule collection will be available online and in all Acne Studios boutiques starting December 19th.
The collection is inspired not so much by Berger's photos but by the magazine as such and for this reason includes typographic elements and magazine covers alongside references to the clubbing world and gothic-punk subculture. The shirts make up a large part of the proposal in both the cotton, organza and poplin versions, all decorated with digital prints. In particular, the black poplin shirt has the print "Glamicide" on the chest while the chemisier is in jacquard cotton with off-white and black stripes. More conventional items, such as contrast-collar t-shirts, crewneck sweatshirts and 1977 jeans are decorated with newspaper graphics and covers, while accessories consist of leather goods, scarves and a pair of sunglasses with red lettering printed directly on the lenses.
Acne Studios' "Propaganda" capsule will be available from December 19th on the online shop and in all Acne Studios stores.
