Feng Chen Wang and Converse teamed up again for the SS20
Apparel and sneakers were presented at the Shanghai Fashion Week
October 16th, 2019
Feng Chen Wang is one of the most talented emerging designers to keep an eye on. The Chinese creative has just presented her SS20 collection during Shanghai Fashion Week, capturing the attention and appreciation of the public and the press. Among the many outfits shown on the catwalk, the most interesting are those included in the new collaboration with Converse. For their latest partnership, the two created a series of apparel and sneakers that merge sportswear, street style and deconstructivism typical of Wang's aesthetics. The 8 pieces mix materials and tailored cuts with more technical ones and include brightly colored jackets and pants with pockets and removable parts; loose shorts and crocheted shirts.
The Asian designer continues to reinterpret some of Converse's most iconic silhouettes. The result is a series of One Star and Chuck 70 made with panels of a rubber-like material that run along the upper and give more volume to the structure. The inspiration is the Pilot Winter Flying shoe A-6, a boot made in 1909 by Converse for the American Air Force.
The Converse by Feng Chen Wang capsule will launch exclusively in China and Korea on November 15. A global release has not been announced yet.
