The new collection by Awake NY and Kappa
The two brands launched a 90's-inspired collecion
October 11th, 2019
The new autumn/winter collection by Awake and Kappa recalls and combines the different roots of the two brands, combining the streetwear style typical of the Angelo Baque brand (former Supreme brand manager) brand with the sports origins of Kappa. The result is a line of clothing that harmoniously brings together the two styles, reconnecting with the aesthetics of the 90s.
What makes the union of the two brands even stronger is the visual combination of their respective logos, in continuous alternation in the bands that characterize each item of the collection. The line includes some typical '90s garments, which have become distinctive features of entire subcultures (especially Chavs and Casuals - in football -, iconographically linked to brands such as Kappa): from traksuits to stadium jackets, to the iconic bucket hat (with the circular band that perfectly highlights the alternation of the double logo). And then, of course, a purely sport garment such as the football jersey, a prerogative of Kappa, declined towards the New York roots of Awake, made clear and distinguishable by the frontal print represented Time Square.
The complete Awake NY and Kappa collection will be available online from October 25th.
