Last night, at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, went down the most anticipated event of the year for the fashion industry: the Met Gala. The theme chosen for this year's ball and exhibition gave the chance to all the attendees to let their imagination free with extravagant, outrageous and over the top looks, as it suits Camp fashion. 

The craziest outfits seen on the red carpet have obviously caught the attention of all the Instagram and Twitter users watching the event from their couches, who promptly turned them into Met Gala memes.
Although many of the dresses have left most of the public puzzled, the interest aroused by the inexplicable and imaginative looks has intrigued web users, who in the following hours at the Met Gala made the run to find the inspirations behind the individual leaders who marched on the red carpet.

Lyst, the leading online search engine in the fashion world, analyzed user reactions in the hours following the Met Gala, based on research and mentions on social networks. To get the most mentions on social networks, with a total of 750,000, was the "Cenerentola" Zendaya, followed by Harry Style, the guest with the most positive mentions on social media (592000), thanks to her genderfluid look by Gucci, the most quoted brand with 136 thousand mentions. Styles is also very popular in Italy, in fact, 5% of the global mentions came from our peninsula. On the lowest step of the podium is Lady Gaga, for a number of citations of 412,000 and a positive sentiment of 70%.

Among the brands, the first places in the ranking of satisfaction and research are completed by Nike (36000), thanks to the bold combination of Serena Williams of her AF1 x Off-White Volt with the Versace dress. The Donatella brand, among the most active at the Met Gala, is third in the ranking, with 31,000 mentions.
