Melissa brings the art of crochet to the Milan Design Week 2019
In collaboration with the brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana
April 3rd, 2019
Melissa and Campana have chosen to celebrate their 15th partnership with an exclusive installation during Milan Design Week 2019. From 9th to 14th April in the heart of the Brera Design District, in a space in Via Palermo 1, will exhibit a special conical structure covered with different pieces of crochet weft, made by brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana with the help of the Brazilian NGO Projeto Arrastão. Positioned in the center of the room, this work will help immerse visitors in the Melissa universe and in the heritage of its longest collaboration, but it will also create the perfect atmosphere to showcase the new Crochet collection.
The brand founded in 1979 and the duo of brothers returns, in fact, to join forces not only for art, but for three new products with the characteristic crochet pattern: Melissa Campana Crochet, a comfortable and classic flat ballerina available in seven different colors to which he also contributed Arrastão; Mini Melissa Campana Crochet, a flat model covered in glitter designed for toddlers in red, rose gold, black. To complete the proposal there is also the Melissa Campana Crochet Bag.
The exclusive limited edition will be on sale in the pop-up opened to the public during the Fuori Salone, as well as on the Melissa e-commerce and a percentage of the profits will be donated to the Istituto Campana, whose mission is to preserve the legacy of the two brothers using design as a tool for transformation through social and educational projects. The new collaboration will then be available from November at Galeria Melissa, on the e-commerce of the brand and at Clubes Melissa throughout Brazil.
