Istituto Marangoni and MM6 Maison Margiela together for the FW19 collection
The students realized the staging of the maison's Milan boutique
March 21st, 2019
As happened last year, Maison Margiela decided to collaborate with the students of Istituto Marangoni Fashion Design courses. The brand has entrusted the young creatives with the preparation of the spaces within its boutique in Via della Spiga in Milan for the presentation of the new FW19 collection of MM6. The immaculate, oversized, fluffy, soft look, similar to the clouds of the puffers and other creations, has become a mysterious and muffled set, all white. An effect obtained by covering all the surfaces, from the walls to the flooring, with padded white cotton panels, in perfect Maison Margiela style. To make the project even more special and evocative, each student chose a vintage piece at the flea market to be reworked in a creative way. Thus, cushions, telephones, chairs, lamps, chandeliers, luggage and coat hangers, covered with soft padding to recall the shapes and volumes of the collection, have acquired a new life.
If you want to immerse yourself in this cozy, almost magical atmosphere, you can do so by visiting the Maison Margiela boutique in Milan, where the objects created by the Marangoni Institute team and their installation have remained to reflect the creative concept of the collection.
