The new JET SET chapter starts with FW19
A homage to its heritage and a new creative director
January 24th, 2019
JET SET, the historic brand founded in St. Moritz, Switzerland, in 1969 that, with its visionary philosophy that fuses fashion, functionality and luxury, has conquered people like Gunter Sachs, Gianni Agnelli and Grace Kelly. Now it is ready to return but under the guidance of a new creative director, Michael Michalsky, German designer who boasts in his curriculum collaborations with Yohji Yamamoto, Stella McCartney and former global creative director of adidas.
The new proposal for the FW19, just presented during the last PFW, is a tribute to the codes and the heritage of the company that arrives just in time to celebrate its 50 years of activity. The designer, indeed, reworks in a contemporary way, with a hint of streetstyle and some element borrowed from the US military (bomber ripstop, heavy cotton shirts and performing ski suits), the vast archive of the label, especially the 80s, re-adapting the logo, silhouette and details, but remaining faithful to the codes of all time: sportswear, quality, technological innovation, color.
Just this detail is one of the features that most draws attention to the new garments, thanks to an eye-catching palette made of black onyx, white, orange, yellow, turquoise. The must-have pieces? Those outwear like the kagool, also declined in a light fabric covered in black and silver; the quilts with interesting graphics, but also the reversible sweatshirts.
