The Biggest Womenswear Trends for 2019 As seen on the most important catwalks

After our anticipations on the menswear trends of 2019, it's time to talk about womenswear. We gathered 10 trends that will dominate the new year, taking a cue from the Spring Summer 2019 fashion shows. Prints, fabrics, colors and silhouettes that will conquer your wardrobe and that will earn a special spot in our streetstyle reportages. 

Neon

Unavoidable. On the runways all over the world bright, volt and pop colors have stolen the spotlight, both in a more classic version - to revive a traditional trench - or to add a glamorous touch to bold minidresses. 

Animalier

And you're gonna hear me roar. Python, leopard, reptile, cow print: a trend that has already won over the hearts of many fashionistas will remain a solid theme also for the new year, in new nuances and materials. 

Eightes

Welcome back oversized jackets with exaggerated shoulder pads, color blocking, super short skirts, washed denim and over-the-top details. A blast from the pas avoiding the nostalgia. 

Utility

Everything must be at hand, comfort and practicality are the core elements of this trend, that for this season has found a new and unexpected interpreter in one of the most classic and elegant fashion houses in the world, Hermès. The super cool new entry is the boiler suit, a kind of coveralls revisited with a sophisticated vibe, decorated with zippers, pockets and durable fabrics. 

New Tailoring

This year's uniform is a comfortable power suit, symbol of an understated and timeless elegance, without frills or unnecessary details, that can be worn from morning - in a low-key outfit, to evening, with sequins and jewelry pins. 

Fringe

A costant in the history of fashion, that since the 1920s has always come back with regularity. This season fringe are back both in the western/cow-boy mood and in a more sophisticated and Hollywood version. For the everyday life we suggest you more under the radar but still trendy accessories.  

Nude

A beige and creamy colour gamut, with almost all the Pantone nuances, has colored every kind of item, from knitted dresses and girly skirts, to suits and ladylike outfits. 

PVC

A very strong trend, that started to spread last year, dominating the Instagram feeds, and characterized by a long and rich history. The real must-have of the season is the PVC trench. 

Sports Couture

Not the usual sportswear. The absolute protagonists remain the bike shorts, followed by racing suits, swimsuits to surf and neoprene tops  - scuba-diving inspired -, paired with midi skirts. 

Ribbons

Small or big, of rhinestone or cloth, to close sexy tops or to adorn almost haute couture dresses, to enrich modern headbands or to polish '00s inspired big sunglasses. It was Miuccia Prada to bring back the ribbon under the fashion radar, to make us all feel very good girls.
