Gosha Rubchinskiy accused of inappropriate messaging with minor
Another scandal in the world of fashion, involving Diet Prada, Gosha and a underaged boy minor
December 10th, 2018
Another storm hit the world of fashion, unpleasant and upsetting as the in Dolce & Gabbana scandal. Once again to light the fuse was the Instagram's profile Diet Prada, which published, as happened with D&G, some dubious screenshot between the Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy (34) and a minor boy (16) contacted for a casting.
The teen is a member of the High Fashion Talk (HFT) group on Facebook, where he has been posting information about the incident, and were then subsequently posted across other fashion-focused accounts such as Diet Prada. The conversation shows Rubchinskiy making contact via Instagram’s Direct Messages, which then led to the conversation being taken to Whatsapp as well as FaceTime. The Russian designer explicitly asks the boy to send him some photos in the bathroom, not leaving the right amount to the imagination and unleashing doubts about alleged good purposes, then clarified by Russian brand's team.
With an official note, in fact, the brand explained how it was a street casting, a common practice that involves contacting models privately and ask for photographs, in view of future shows or shooting. Gosha Rubchinskiy, in fact, it's going to shoot a lookbook just this week, in London, so the conversation would not hide anything outrageous. Gosha is used to casting teenagers for his projects, and this raises doubts and concerns.
“This was a street casting for a look book shoot. The person sent a direct mail to us asking to be considered for the casting. This happens all the time. [...] Gosha did a face time with him and then he asked for a photo to have on file with all the others. [...] This exchange as depicted on the Instagram post of Supreme leaks news has been altered and taken out of context. It is clear there has been modifications and deletions to make it look bad where in fact it was a simple request for a photo to facilitate the street casting. [...] it was a totally innocent street casting look something that it was not. We have been doing such direct street casting for ten years and we have never had such a problem, therefore this is invalid.”
Still remain perplexities, we wonder why Mr. Gosha has asked for pictures taken in the bathroom, and especially on his insistence of the messages. The age of consent in Russia is 16, however possession of nude or provocative photos of anyone under 18 is considered child pornography. In the following days, other minors reported the same attitudes from Gosha Rubchinskiy, who in the meantime deleted all the photos from his Instagram's profile.
