EXKITE x Barneys: fly with us
Eco-friendly streetwear made in Italy
November 30th, 2018
The idea of Eirinn Skrede and Renzo Mancini aka EXKITE is simple and cool: to give new life to used kites, transforming them into raw materials for sustainable technical pieces, rooted in functionality, design and craftsmanship. Each piece that is made is unique as its origin and its history, as can be read from the label that reveals the history of each sail, where it flew and with whom. Some have traveled the world or have won important races, others have been kissed by the cold sun of Scandinavia or by the salt air of the Mediterranean and, at the end of their journey, they have become all unique and full-bodied outerwear.
With their eco-sustainable fashion, the kitesurf athlete and the Norwegian designer have conquered many different realities, collaborating with Christopher Ræburn and, now, also with Barneys. Together with the chain of stores, EXKITE has created a limited edition capsule collection, using two kites as raw material for its outerwear, which, starting from Sardinia, flew through France, Spain, Norway and even to Los Angeles and San Francisco. The EXKITE x Barneys collection will be available in Barneys for half November. For further details visit the website of the Sardinian brand.
