The art of catwalks
The magic of the fashion show
September 17th, 2018
Rem Koolhaas, Simon Costin, Es Devlin, AMO, Bureau Betak. Who are they? They are set designers, architects, magicians who know how to transform a few objects into a world, a place born in the mind of stylists that becomes reality thanks to the work of these extraordinary talents. Prada, Raf Simons, Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Fendi, each brand relies on a creative designer to create a parallel universe, an ephemeral yet perfect artistic installation in a few meters, on which the models will walk with the new collections.
Some chose to dress the catwalk like the water mirror of the Trevi fountain and some like the Everest snowy ground, who filled it with pop corn and some like a laid table, who used it as basis for highlighting more canonical art pieces (for an artistic effect to the nth degree) and who put a picture of Monet. The possibilities are endless and, each season, more and more beautiful. If you want to remember some wonderful catwalks, take a look below. The only watchword: art.
