Dropout: the first Milan consignment store dedicated to streetwear

Something in Milan is changing. The Italian capital of fashion is becoming year after year an increasingly fertile ground for the growth and development of street culture and streetwear. Dropout, the first Milanese consignment store dedicated to streetwear, is ready to open its doors to fans, veterans or just curious about this fascinating and ever-growing world.

We had the opportunity to have a chat with the guys behind this project. Between a consideration on the evolution of streetwear in Italy, and an estimate on the fate of the resell market, they told us how Dropout was born and what we should expect from this new reality.

#1 What should we absolutely know about Dropout, how did it come about and who is behind the first Milanese resell store?

The idea of Dropout was born mainly a few months ago from two guys with a passion for streetwear who thought they would turn it into a job. Together with other partners we then created the first resell store in Milan that offers an online consign service through the Hypeanalyzer app for all those who want to rely on us to sell their pieces.

#2 When was the moment when you realized that your passion for sneakers could also become your job?

We realized this when this world was becoming more and more a business. Perhaps all this is at the expense of passion; we did not lack the means and the ability to often earn beautiful amounts in a few days.

The streetwear phenomenon in recent years has seen its audience increase, this has led many people to dabble with the resell. As this might affect the wrong assessment of the various pieces, the real difference is made by the request of this public, so more than ruined I would say that it has simply changed over time.

#4 In addition to the clothing items dead stock of the most hype brands, what will we find inside the store?

Inside Dropout, in addition to the most hype items, there will also be minor and emerging brands. We rely a lot on being an important showcase for new realities both regarding apparel and cleaning of sneakers. Also you can buy the products of our brand in which we believe a lot.

#5 How important is the contact with the Milanese community for you and how do you think you can actively involve it in Dropout?

The Milanese community is certainly a fundamental part of this project, together with the whole Italian streetwear community, which is also present on social media. Dropout will also be a gathering place to meet a friend and have a chat. Surely there will be events and collaborations ... stay tuned.

#6 The opening is set for September 16th: can you reveal a grail that we will find in the store?

Well let's say that there will not be a few "beautiful pieces" that you can find. Surely the most interesting piece will be the Jordan 1 Shattered reverse 2.0 1/1 with a particular factory defect such as the inverted swoosh: the real Reverse.
