Woolrich chooses Lauryn Hill for the FW18 campaign
“Woolrich: American Soul Since 1830’”
August 1st, 2018
Woolrich launches the project Woolrich: American Soul Since 1830: a celebration of its history told and represented through the vision of artists whose creativity and talent represent the heart of American culture.
The first talent to embody the authentic spirit of the brand is the iconic Lauryn Hill, the protagonist of the FW18 advertising campaign.
The shots taken by Jack Davison portray Ms. Hill, dressed in some classic outerwear from her exclusively personalized outdoor label, in the district of Washington Heights in New York, thus evoking her unforgettable video Doo Wop (That Thing), originally shot in the same location in 1998. Along with the images, the campaign includes a video, an exclusive live performance in which the singer plays "Ex-Factor" accompanied by a piano, along with the text she herself wrote for Woolrich.
The multifaceted musician has not only collaborated in the creation of images and the live music for advertisement but has also designed a limited edition capsule collection of customized products that will be distributed in the Woolrich stores and in partnership with select retailers in North America and Europe.
