Heron Preston SS19: workwear meets PFW
Including an eyewear capsule with Nike
June 22nd, 2018
Heron Preston arrives at Paris Fashion Week and presents En Vogue, a collection for SS19 inspired by workwear.
While in the audience Bella Hadid catches the attention of the press, the designer from San Francisco proposes a prêt-à-porter made of jeans and trousers with satellite images of Australian terrain, metallic coats, safety belts, vests, chore jackets, vests full of pockets, shirts, sweatshirts with animals symbol of the brand.
All declined in bold colors, from orange to blue, from green to red, a chromatic choice that enhances the mix of workwear and sports elements.
In the accessories, debuts a new printed plastic bag, inspired by toolboxes, as well as an adaptation of the branded fanny pack, reworked as a hybrid double backpack.
Surprisingly, the collection includes an eyewear line called Tailwind HP in collaboration with Nike. Each model will be supplied with interchangeable lenses, including a version in the bold shade of Preston's mandarin.
A fun fact: the recurring motif of HP in the Cyrillic character of the word Style is now in Cantonese, a wink at the next opening (October 2018) of a retail store in Hong Kong.
