Converse's marketing director leaves Nike for Supreme
Julien Cahn is only the last of 9 executive-level employees who left Nike in a matter of 35 days
April 26th, 2018
This is not a good time for Nike.
The colossal sportswear is at the center of a series of layoffs and voluntary dismissals, a result of unsuitable behavior in the workplace "that do not reflect our core values of inclusiveness, respect and empowerment".
After Trevor Edwards, president of the Nike brand, and Jayme Martin, vice president and general manager for global categories, the abandonment of Tiffany Beers and the separation of Ken Link to move to adidas, now it's up to the marketing director of Converse to leave the company .
In fact, Julien Cahn decided to go to work at Supreme, fixed on the streetwear scene for over a decade. The man is famous for having founded the influential Parisian communications agency La MJC in 2001, alongside Michael Dupouy. After being senior marketing director of Nike, he went to work on the Converse brand in 2016.
His role as CMO, as just announced, will be occupied by Sophie Bambuck.
It seems that in 35 days as many as 9 employees with management roles have abandoned Nike, the situation will also be reflected on the creative side?
