Gucci celebrates Dario Argento with the art book "Disturbia" by Peter Schlesinger
A dreamlike trip in a limited edition between the locations and the atmosphere of the Silver movies
April 24th, 2018
Gucci meets Dario Argento.
The Florentine brand celebrates the work of the iconic horror director with a new limited edition publication.
The project entitled Disturbia presents a series of images from the Gucci pre-fall 2018 collection created by photographer Peter Schlesinger alongside some extracts from the screenplay of the film Inferno of 1980.
The shots are set in evocative places like the Aula Magna of the George Eastman Dental Hospital and the Coppedè Quarter, where some scenes of the same Inferno and L'Uccello delle Piume di Cristallo were shot (1970), while the 'Hotel Mediteraneo and Casina Delle Civette enrich the images with suggestion.
"Disturbia" is not just a book, it is also a dreamlike journey into the world of Gucci and Argento, among marvelous clothes, urban landscapes, nocturnal visions, architectural details and gloomy interiors.
The publication, bound with a flowered fabric cover and distributed by the independent English publisher Idea in a limited edition of only 1,000 copies sold in a transparent plastic package, will be presented on May 3rd by Dover Street Market in New York and will be on sale in selected stores, including 10 Corso Como in Milan, at a price of 55 euros.
