Alexander Wang: no models for the SS18 advertising campaign
The images are shot by the famous photographer Albert Watson

Alexander Wang launches the SS18 advertising campaign.
Tired of the usual fashion photos, the Taiwanese designer chooses not to portray models wearing the garments of his collection, but to leave the role of protagonists precisely to his creations.
"For our spring 2018 campaign, I wanted to give creative power to the women that inspired me, letting them choose the pieces they wanted to wear, whenever they wanted to wear them",
Wang explained in an official note.
In the images created by Albert Watson, photographer known for his black and white portraits of icons such as Kate Moss, Tupac and David Bowie, there are not the girls of the famous "Wang Squad", but only the "vibrant spirit" represented by the sentences by Kaia Gerber, Zoë Kravitz, Behati Prinsloo and other it-girls placed side by side on the garment, like a deconstructed t-shirt, a pair of stilettos wrapped in barbed wire or a crown of feathers.
This is not the first unconventional choice of the designer who decided not to present hi collections together with her colleagues during the New York Fashion Week, but in June and December with the pre-collections.
