Y/Project FW18: opulence meets urban eccentricity

Y/Project FW18: opulence meets urban eccentricity Here's everything you need to know about the Paris show

To show off its latest creations, Glenn Martens chooses the deco splendor of the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Avenue Montaigne, according to the designer, an opulence that fits perfectly with the Y/Project FW18 collection he had in mind.

The soundtrack that accompanies the leaders on the catwalk is convulsive and combines sounds of different genres, from the opening Chariots of Fire to the thrashing heavy metal of Trapped in Hell by Gruesome, sublimely reflects the mentality of Glenn Martens.

The collection

"There's a little less sportswear, but on a global level, we still have all the categories of the kind of woman we love: there's a sexy atmosphere, there's a sophisticated atmosphere, there's a little more than a shabby atmosphere, a diva atmosphere - all the women are there",

said Martens backstage after the show.

Among the standouts, raincoats, sweaters and silk dresses that sprout like layers of puff pastry cakes, acid-washed jeans with a multi-layered hem, a fringed curtain transformed into a spiral skirt, corduroy trousers with a fig leaf embroidered on the horse, satin fur coat, classic striped sweaters combined with dramatic skirts and eccentric denim silhouettes.

Back to complete the look the collaboration with UGG, with hugthigh-highgh boots that debuted at the men's show in January.
