Burberry FW18: from Christopher Bailey's farewell to Cara's comeback
L'arcobaleno è il colore della stagione invernale, una trama diventata un vero e proprio simbolo
February 19th, 2018
Saturday February 17th at 17.00 London has stopped. For 15 minutes, the entire fashion system had its eyes fully fixed on a catwalk, on the catwalk: the Burberry's.
The FW18 collection is the perfect farewell for Christopher Bailey who, after 17 years, gives the helm of creative director to an increasingly suspected Kim Jones. The rainbow is the color of the winter season, a detail that has become a symbol of peace, equality, fraternity, which now creates a mix with the traditional Burberry motif. Lines are now double on the garments and they take on the rainbow nuance on accessories such as scarves or caps, and on clothing, such as trench coats, skirts or trousers. The over becomes more and more dominant, but also through this silhuette the female forms are not damaged or obscured: the Burberry woman is filled with colors, and only in this way, shines with force and incredible glow.
The gorgeous models are captained by the (now) actress Cara Delevingne, back on the catwalk only for that brand to which she is particularly linked, manifesting her rare beauty wrapped in a long coat yellow, red and orange. At the same time, to be illuminated there was also the "front row" totally occupied by characters dear to the brand: from the historical muse Kate Moss to singer Liam Gallagher, Poppy Delevingne or Naomi Watts.
We have to say goodbye to Christopher Bailey, but not to his Burberry, which will remain forever fixed in the fashion's history.
Fun Fact: to note the 'particular' combo. Saturday, February 17, at 17, Mr. Bailey says goodbye after 17 years of work.
