Interview with A$AP Nast

In the picturesque and vibrant setting of the One Star Hotel by Converse, an immersive experience on several floors full of events, performances, sneakers and interactive activities, we had the opportunity to have a chat with the rapper of the A$AP Mob, A$AP Nast, on his relationship with Converse, his plans for the future and his love for Italy that we hope will soon take him to our beautiful country.

Everything inside the room ideated by him inside the One Star Hotel: the Mid Century Room. 

#1 What do you think about fashion in Italy?

Nowadays, Italian design is what moves fashion, just think of Gucci or Prada... you are the "creators". In Italy it is not a trend, it is the common rule. The streetwear comes from there. It is not a trend. It is a style of sight that comes from this.

#2 What does Converse represent for you now?

Converse is a lifestyle brand, you can associate it with anything. You can not f*** u* a pair of Converse! You can wear them with anything and if you can't, well, you're a weirdo.

#3 Chuck Taylor or One Star?

I like One Star and I wear them a lot but, personally, I prefer Chucks. The Chuck Taylor is the most classic Converse model.

#4 For your collaboration with Converse for the One Star Hotel, which element is more yours?

Mostly the mid-century, a lot of things from that period fascinates me, all the culture of that time. Mid-Century is a state of mind for me. I challenge my own '70s self... I always wanted to be born in those years in order to fully experience that culture: our culture, music, fashion, people in general, everything seemed really fantastic, much more than now! I often imagine how the world was then.
Even the worst dressed people of that period dressed well, they were simply f****** fantastic.

#5 What is the perfect outfit for you?

A pair of jeans, a T-shirt and a pair of Converse.

#6 What will your next move be with Converse? People are asking if they want to know more.

Well, that I'll never tell you!
People always want to know what will happen next, but then there would be no more mystery and I love the mystery, not to know what will happen.

#7 Many people in Italy would like to be able to buy your latest Converse collaboration...

Hopefully soon, hopefully soon, it will be possible. We may have a release date there... I would love a release in Italy.
